HSSC Part I Humanities / Science

ELECTIVE SUBJECTS (HUMANITIES)

Students are required to select one of the following combinations: This selection should be made very carefully, as no change will be allowed after admission, except in extreme hardship cases

  4. Civics Library Science Essentials of Home Economics

  9. Islamic Studies Education Arabic Literature
  10. English Literature Education Civics
  11. Urdu Literature Education Civics
  12. History Education Islamic Studies
  13. History Civics Sociology
  14. History Islamic Studies Economics
  15. Psychology Health & Physical Education Sociology
  16. Islamic Studies Health & Physical Education Civics
  17. Mathematics Statistics Library Science
  18. Mathematics Statistics Psychology
  19. Statistics Economics Computer Science
  20. Essentials of Home Economics Education Persian Literature
  21. Essentials of Home Economics Education Urdu Literature

Note:
  1. English Literature and Fine Arts will be allowed to those students only, who qualify the aptitude test in these subjects. This test will be held within 10 days of the commencement of the classes
  2. Only those students who have obtained at least 60% marks in Mathematics at SSC level can select it in HSSC I
  3. The student who takes Urdu as an elective subject up to B.A and secures 1st division in the Punjab University Examination will be granted the Azra Raza Cash Award of Rs. 50,000/-
  4. As there is a limited number of seats in Computer Science, the subject will be allowed only to those students who have secured 60% marks in SSC Examination

ELECTIVE SUBJECTS (SCIENCE)

Any one of the combinations from the following groups may be selected. Each subject carries 100 marks. This selection should be made carefully as no change will be allowed after admission, except in extreme hardship cases.

  1. Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Pre-Medical Group).
  2. Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (Pre-Engineering Group).
  3. Physics, Mathematics, Statistics (General Group).
  4. Economics, Mathematics, Statistics (General Group).
  5. Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science (General Group).
  6. Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science (General Group).
NOTE:
  1. Only those who have obtained at least 60% marks in Mathematics at SSC level can select it in HSSC-I
  2. HSSC Part-I & Part-II examination are held by the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education as per policy. The certificate is, however, awarded by the Board on the successful completion of the two-year course
  3. In view of the limited number of seats in each elective subject, it may not be possible to accommodate candidates according to their choice, in which case, they will be asked to adjust their option according to the availability of seats. In certain subjects they may also have to take aptitude tests
  4. The Principal shall have the discretion to drop a certain subject or subject combination if the number of students is less than ten
  5. Pakistani nationals who remained abroad for a continuous period of three years before appearing in an examination of the Board, and did not have an opportunity to study Urdu in the foreign country upto the level of HSSC Examination, may offer Urdu (Salees) in lieu of Urdu (Compulsory) Paper-I, and Pakistani Culture Paper-II, in lieu of Urdu (Compulsory) Paper-II, if they offer English (Advanced) in lieu of English (Compulsory), subject to permission from the Board
  6. Candidates of foreign origin who never had an opportunity to study Urdu upto the level of HSSC Examination will be permitted to offer Pakistani culture in lieu of Urdu (Compulsory), if they offer English (Advanced) instead of English (Compulsory), subject to permission from the Board
  7. Candidates of category v and vi who have not studied under the British or American system of education, or have not appeared in or passed such an examination at GCE Ordinary or Higher level, will be granted the concession of taking English (Compulsory) in lieu of English (Advanced). Prior permission from the Board shall be necessary in this regard
  8. The candidates falling in category vi will be required to seek prior permission from the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Islamabad for combination of subjects i.e. alternative to Urdu Compulsory, before 30th October on payment of Rs.200/-
